About Science in the Triangle
Science in the Triangle (SIT) is an evolving experiment in community science journalism and scientific-community organizing. Launched online in April 2008, SIT informs residents of the science- and technology-rich Research Triangle region of North Carolina about discoveries their neighbors are making in Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill.
SIT captures science news, events, opinions, career opportunities and other information all in one place, and it encourages participation among scientists, teachers, students and otherwise curious lifelong learners. Unlike any single science institution, organization or media outlet, SIT provides an open and expandable media platform for promoting deeper engagement of all members of our unusually vibrant science community.
